Claima x Dreamville
We worked with Social Status to develop a merchandise concept for Claima’s Tour through Dreamville Fest. Our team was responsible for creating design concepts and providing production ready tech packs. We focused on deep research, connecting the visual storytelling, and highlighting black stories through design.

Black Main Street in Raleigh, NC. A commercial district in Downtown Raleigh in the 1910s and 1920s on East Hargett Street between Fayetteville St. and Blount St.After doing in-depth research on Black Main Street we discovered that it was extremely tough to find information on the 51 black businesses the district housed previously.
We originally wanted to list the 51 businesses in the same manner as a classic tour tee. But we felt not having the information for all the operations would be unfair. In this challenge is how we developed the t-shirt concept.
Instead of making a new concept we decided to highlight the importance of sharing black stories (which is also on brand with Claima x Storytellas ethos). We made this come about by listing the names of the business that we could find and then slowly started to fade the other business names. Over the faded part has a CTA of share black stories or “this” happens, we lose our history.
